Elder Board Responsibilities

• The primary role of the Elder Board is to follow Jesus Christ as they oversee the entire ministry of this church (Titus 1:7). An overseer is a leader, responsible for selecting, equipping, encouraging, and supporting others to do the ministry of the church.  In fulfillment of that role the Elders are responsible for:
• Determining and casting the overall spiritual vision of the church, and leading others to develop and achieve the goals necessary to bring this vision to reality.
  (1 Timothy 5:17; 1Thessalonians 5:12; Hebrews 13:17)
• Shepherding the church family by caring for, strengthening, providing for, protecting, and leading.
  (I Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:28)
• Praying for the body, especially those who are ill.
  (James 5:14)
• They shall have authority and responsibility to see that all other duties not expressly given to another entity of the church are accomplished in order to fulfill the mission and vision of this church.
• They shall strive to conduct the affairs of this church by application of the principles of unanimity as set forth in the Scriptures.
